Manicure Monday | Ciaté - Jewellery Box

I'm always unsure of what to paint my nails for New Year's Eve, should I go with classy and simple or bold and fun? Whilst digging through my stash I found Jewellery Box from Ciaté that I think ticks both of those boxes and then some.

Manicure Monday | Ciaté - Boudoir

As it's the Monday before Christmas I was planning on doing some festive nails for this post, but as you may have gathered from my lack of posts last week I haven't been feeling too great. I didn't really have the energy or inclination to do any fancy nail art (not that I'm any good at it anyway) or take hours gluing gems to my nails, so I've gone with a perfect Christmas red; This is Boudoir from Ciaté.

Manicure Monday | Wet N Wild - Ants In My Pants

I've never tried a nail polish from Wet N Wild before, so when I saw that Ants In My Pants was available from Amazon I immediately added it to my basket. I've had my eye on the cult classic Deborah Lippmann's Ruby Red Slippers for a while now, but it's so expensive that I couldn't bring myself to get it, thankfully this budget-friendly polish from Wet N Wild is said to be an exact dupe.

Vegan Christmas Gift Guide

If you're anything like me you'll be running behind with your Christmas prep. I bought my first gift two days ago, so I still have a long way to go, especially if I take into account all of the baking and decorating. I don't know how I'm going to get it all done. So, in order to try and help you out a touch I've put together a gift guide for the last minute shoppers out there. There's a bit of everything here from beauty to food, so hopefully you'll find something you like.

Manicure Monday | Barry M Speedy Quick Dry - Sprint Finish

I've had my eye on the Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paints from Barry M since they first came out earlier this year. As you know, I love the brand, so I'm keen to try out any vegan-friendly products that they release. The initial few shades that were released in spring weren't really my cup of tea, but as they've now brought out an autumn/winter collection, I had a peek and fell in love with Sprint Finish immediately.

Manicure Monday | Barry M - Mustard

You may have noticed that there are a few colours that I really try to avoid wearing in my nails, yellow is one of them. I have quite pink fingers and I find that a lot of yellow shades can really emphasise that. However, I fell in love with Mustard from Barry M as soon as I saw it so took the plunge and thought I'd give it a go.

#GoCrueltyFree with Beautiful Movements

Beautiful Movements Review

Being a vegan and cruelty-free blogger, there is one name that excites me more than any other, and that is Cruelty Free International. You may not recognise the name, but I'm sure you'd recognise their leaping bunny logo, after all, it is the gold standard in cruelty-free beauty and lifestyle products. You can imagine how thrilled I was to open an email from them asking if I was interested in working with them. I was sent some products from Beautiful Movements*, a new make-up brand co-founded by Kimberly Wyatt of The Pussycat Dolls, and today I'd like to share my reviews with you.

Manicure Monday | Barry M Daylight Curing - I Can't Get You Out Of My Red

After trying out another of Barry M's Sunset Gel Nail Paints and loving it so much I was keen to get another shade and see if I felt the same way about that one. I decided to go for I Can't Get You Out Of My Red because I'm a big fan of bright red nails and it looked so beautiful on photos.

The Vegan Kind Beauty Box #5 | First Impressions

As I mentioned in my last Vegan Kind post, I was thinking of keeping my subscription after previously cancelling it. I was so happy with box number four that I did just that. Because the beauty boxes are sent out quarterly I do find that I forget it's due, so is always a nice surprise when it lands on my doorstep. Here's what was in the latest box.

Manicure Monday | Models Own - Brunette Red

So far this autumn I've really tried to mix my nail polish colours up a bit. My favourite colour at the moment is burgundy so it would be really easy to wear a slightly different shade of that each week, but I'm attempting to be more adventurous this year. However, I couldn't help myself this week and just had to dig out my previously unopened bottle of Brunette Red from Models Own.

Manicure Monday | Ciaté - Stiletto

For the first time ever I've had a request for this week's Mani Monday. I've been asked if I'd feature a green polish, and my mind immediately went to Stiletto from Ciaté. If you're a long-time reader, you may remember this from my nail post last autumn, but I never got around to featuring it on its own.

Sometimes You Just Need a Good Cry

If you've been following my social media accounts for a while, you may have noticed a bit of a change in the content that's being put up there at the moment. I seem to have gone from my usual 'I'm ok, in an OK mood and relatively talkative' to 'OMG I'm in such a good mood, look at me smiling, how are you? How's life? You good? Am I talking too much? Ooh have you seen this?', and I'm here to tell you why.

100% Pure Maracuja Oil Air Cushion Foundation

Foundation is one of the few make-up products that I'm always a little sceptical of trying from new brands. I have dry to combination skin and am very fair with very slight pink undertones, so finding a great shade match for me that also doesn't cling to dry patches or make me look oily is quite a task. After browsing the 100% Pure website, I thought I'd give their Air Cushion Foundation* a try, the shade that I'm reviewing here is Alpine Rose, their lightest cool-toned shade.

Manicure Monday | Nails Inc. - Shoreditch Lane

Nails Inc. is a brand that I used to use a lot, but over the years their formula seemed to change, and not for the better, so I almost gave up on them as a brand. However, a few months ago I saw their Leather Effect collection and was intrigued so decided to give them another go, the shade I have on this week is Shoreditch Lane.

Chasing The Dream | An Interview with Emily of The Bell Jar

I'm absolutely delighted to have Emily of The Bell Jar talking about her life's dream in today's interview. Although I did initially set out to have this series based on careers, I thought it was also important to talk about other issues that fall under the same 'dream' umbrella. With that, I'll hand you over to Emily.

Nightshade from Barry M is a polish that I bought as soon as it was released a year ago but put it into my 'not on the blog' box and totally forgot about it. Whilst digging through my polishes for this week's manicure I was really excited to find it again and couldn't wait to get it on my nails.

As you may have gathered if you saw my post on Wednesday, I'm back. Thankfully after almost five weeks of trial and error I am now able to see properly and the pain in my eye and face has totally gone. So, I thought I'd write a little post just to thank you all for the many emails, tweets, Facebook messages etc. that I've received over the last month.

LUSH Lord of Misrule Shower Cream

Ever since I managed to get my hands on the forum special Lord of Misrule perfume last December, I've been totally obsessed with the scent. I've scoured Depop, eBay and other sites looking for unwanted bottles, but haven't had any luck. I still have a small amount of fragrance left but have been saving it, so you can imagine my excitement when I heard that Lush had released the same scent as a shower cream (or "scream" as they're calling it in the run-up to Halloween).

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you may have seen that I'm not very well at the moment. Unfortunately, I'm having a few health issues, and one of them is causing a lot of pain when I look at the computer screen. So rather than leave the blog with nothing up for today, the wonderful H of The Small Things of Life has written a post for you about making the most of your camera phone for blogging photos. Her photography really is fantastic, so I hope this is something that you're going to enjoy.

Manicure Monday | OCC - Black Metal Dahlia

I'm beyond happy to be able to share Black Metal Dahlia nail polish from OCC with you today. As you may already know, the Lip Tar of the same name is my all time favourite lipstick, so I was hoping to get my hands on the matching nail polish for ages. However, it's really difficult to come across in the UK. There was a time when it was available in Selfridges, but only as a set, and I already have the Lip Tar, so went on the hunt elsewhere. After seeing the extortionate prices on eBay, I eventually gave up and asked my brother to bring it home from America with him.

Lippy Girl Vegocentric Lipstick - Son of a Brick

As a self-confessed lipstick addict, it's always amazing to get an email from someone asking if I want to try one of their lip products. I've had Lippy Girl on my radar for quite some time now, I've been following them on Instagram for well over a year but haven't yet tried anything of theirs, so when Botanical Brands asked if I was interested in reviewing one of their popular Vegocentric Lipsticks* I couldn't say "yes" quick enough.

Manicure Monday | China Glaze - Point Me To The Party

It's not very often that I see a new collection of nail polish and just have to get my hands on at least one of them ASAP, but that was the case with the China Glaze Electric Nights 2015 collection. All of the polishes were bright and inviting, but none more so than Point Me To The Party, which is a neon glitter topper.

Summer's Last Hoorah!

As much as I hate certain aspects of the warmer months, there are some things I'm really going to miss now autumn is officially here. Being able to leave my window open all day was wonderful, although I have got a bug net to protect me from little critters. Light evenings have been great for photography, rather than having a two-hour deadline I could take my time and get the shot I wanted. But I think the thing I'm going to miss most is my photography subjects dying off. I love taking nature shots, and although I can still do that when it's cold, they won't be as colourful and pretty. So, for the season's last hoorah I'm going to share some photos I've taken this summer that you haven't seen yet.

If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen that Models Own were kind enough to send me their new Polish For Tans collection for 2015. The collection was originally brought out last year, but they added five new shades at the beginning of the summer. The one that really jumped out to me as soon as I opened the box was Turquoise Sea*, so that's what I'm proud to be wearing this week.

Illamasqua Precision Brow Gel

Eyebrows are something I have a love/hate relationship with. I won't leave the house without them filled in some way, but it's the thing I always leave until last in my make-up routine. I'm not very confident in my brow skills, and because they're so thin and sparse it takes a fair bit of time and patience to get them to look reasonably full and even. Over the last few months I've been trying out the Illamasqua Brow Gel in the shade Strike, and have been dying to review it, but had to give it a thorough try. Now I've trialled it for so long, and in so many types of weather, I've finally formed a solid opinion of it.

Vegan Dupes of High-End Scents

Since turning vegan, I've found one of the hardest areas of my beauty routine to replace to be perfumes. Of course, there are plenty of own brand scents that are suitable, but I got so used to the likes of Chanel and Stella McCartney that none of them really seemed to suit me. I was starting to think that I'd have to forgo my old favourites and settle on whatever I could find on the High Street, but thankfully Eden Perfumes have stepped in and saved the day!

Manicure Monday | GOSH - Wild Lilac

After the über bright and sparkly polish I wore last week I thought I'd simplify my manicure this week and go for a nice, pretty créme. GOSH nail polishes are still very new to me, and when I'm trying out a new brand there are a few colours that I tend to gravitate towards, purple being one of them. Wild Lilac is the shade that caught my attention while ordering online, so that's what I'm wearing this week.

Vegan Stereotypes | A Collab with Zusterschap

A couple of weeks ago the ladies behind Zusterschap approached me and asked if I'd like to get involved with their August theme, which just happens to be 'stereotypes'. Obviously, being vegan I face my fair share (and then some) of stereotyping so I jumped at the chance. Myself and a few other cruelty-free bloggers wrote a couple of paragraphs talking about the kind of stereotyping we face as vegans, I'd love it if you checked it out.
