Manicure Monday | Nails Inc. - Shoreditch Lane

Nails Inc. is a brand that I used to use a lot, but over the years their formula seemed to change, and not for the better, so I almost gave up on them as a brand. However, a few months ago I saw their Leather Effect collection and was intrigued so decided to give them another go, the shade I have on this week is Shoreditch Lane.

Shoreditch Lane is a beautiful burgundy shade which is just perfect for this time of year. Unlike a lot of similar shades, it has, in my opinion, the perfect mixture of colours to make it the perfect burgundy; It's not too red, too dark or too purple. As you can see from the photos, it is a textured polish, so if you don't like that you may not be a fan, though I have to say that as bumpy as it looks, it doesn't feel that bad on the nail. I'm very picky when it comes to textured polishes, it has to be relatively smooth for me to be able to wear it, and thankfully this is.

I'm wearing three thin coats in these pictures but probably could have got away with two thicker ones. Because I wanted to leave the texture as it was, I couldn't use top coat to speed things up, so I chose to use very thin coats to cut down on drying time. I needn't have worried, though, it's a very quick drying polish.

I've chosen to pair Shoreditch Lane with Copper from Barry M, which has been my go-to glitter accent polish for a few years now, it just goes with everything. I've had this bottle for approximately three years and it still applies just as smoothly as it did when it was brand new which is seriously impressive. I'm wearing two coats in these pictures, and that gives fully opaque coverage. I have topped it with Seche Vite, but it dries to a lovely shine so you don't really need it.

I really love this combination and am very happy to say that my faith has been restored in Nails Inc. as a brand. The formula was lovely to work with, nothing like I remember from a few years ago, so expect to see some more from them in future Mani Monday posts.

Nails Inc. Leather Effect nail polish in Shoreditch Lane is available from Debenhams for £12, and Barry M Nail Paint in Copper is available online for £2.99.

What do you think of this mani or textured polishes in general?
