For the first time ever I've had a request for this week's Mani Monday. I've been asked if I'd feature a green polish, and my mind immediately went to Stiletto from Ciaté. If you're a long-time reader, you may remember this from my nail post last autumn, but I never got around to featuring it on its own.
Stiletto is a beautiful deep green that's not quite dark enough to be a 'British racing' shade but is still deep enough as to not look gaudy on my very pale skin. As you can see, it's a créme polish, which is my personal favourite, and I think with the mixture of the glossy finish and the shade it makes it look really elegant on the nails. I love deep and vampy shades at this time of year, but I think this is a great alternative to the reds and plums you usually associate with autumn.
The formula was, as I now always expect with Ciaté, perfection. They always apply smooth and evenly and don't tend to show the unevenness of my nails beneath. I ran out of my usual base coat, so I was afraid that my ridges would be seen through the polish but I needn't have worried. Although I am wearing top coat it doesn't need it for the shine, I just made a boo-boo on one of my nails so used Seche Vite to even it out.
As much as I never used to like green or blue nails on me, I've been totally won over with green, now I have to find a great blue to convert me. If you ever have a request for this series, be it a colour, brand, combination etc, please feel free to let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate.
Ciaté Paint Pot in Stiletto is available online for £9.
What do you think of this shade, is green something you'd be comfortable wearing?
