I know we've just started autumn, but I couldn't resist one more bright nail polish. I have a ton of dark and vampy shades coming up in the next few months, but something about Gumballs from Models Own was just screaming at me this week.
Gumballs is from Models Own Sweet Shop collection, which features five beautiful shades that not only resemble sweets but smell like them too! Gumballs is a perfect bubblegum pink créme polish that was fully opaque in two coats. It applied smooth with no streaking and wasn't too thick but was slightly thicker than some créme polishes. Although it dries with a lovely shine, I was in a big rush the day I painted my nails with this so had to use a fast drying top coat to speed things up, so the shine you see in this photo is partially from that.
I've never tried a scented polish before, I've always been a little wary of them to be honest. I think the thought of having a sweet smelling product on my nails for a few days scared me a bit, I didn't want to be smelling sweets or fruit when I was eating dinner. I needn't have worried, though, although Gumballs does definitely smell of bubblegum it's not a strong enough scent to put me off my food or make me feel queasy. It will smell stronger if you don't use a top coat, but even if you do you'll still be able to smell it for a few days before it eventually disappears.
Although the scented polish thing is a bit of a gimmick, that aside I think this is a lovely polish and a beautiful shade, it's one that I'll certainly be reaching for next spring/summer.
