Manicure Monday | Barry M - Mustard

You may have noticed that there are a few colours that I really try to avoid wearing in my nails, yellow is one of them. I have quite pink fingers and I find that a lot of yellow shades can really emphasise that. However, I fell in love with Mustard from Barry M as soon as I saw it so took the plunge and thought I'd give it a go.

Barry M Mustard

Barry M is one of those brands that you usually know exactly what you're getting from the shade name alone, and Mustard is no different. It genuinely is the exact shade as the American mustard I love so much (yes, I did compare them side by side). It's one of the few shades that I wouldn't have look at twice a couple of years ago, but I now love.

As it's a Gelly Nail Paint, I'm not that impressed with the formula; I find this collection to be more sticky and thicker than the classic Nail Paints. Having said that, it is still definitely workable and didn't cause too many problems on first application, I'll be interested to see how it perfroms over time though. I've used two coats for this photo, I thought that I'd need three on some nails but after taking photos I could see that they all looked even enough. As usual I am wearing top coat, but that's only because I painted my nails at 4 am and I was eager to get to bed, nothing dries my nails faster than Seche Vite.

Although not a colour I'd usually go for, I love how it looks on me and it's always nice to switch things up and bit and try something new. I'll be more likely to try other yellows now I know I like this one. I'm sorry that the photo isn't great, the lighting here has been terrible recently and it's made my hands look a funny colour.

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Mustard is available online for £3.99.

What do you think, is this something you'd wear?
