If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen that Models Own were kind enough to send me their new Polish For Tans collection for 2015. The collection was originally brought out last year, but they added five new shades at the beginning of the summer. The one that really jumped out to me as soon as I opened the box was Turquoise Sea*, so that's what I'm proud to be wearing this week.
Obviously, Turquoise Sea is self-explanatory in shade, it's not as bright as the rest of the collection, and for that reason I feel that it's more wearable. The whole idea of 'Polish for Tans' is to wear them in the summer to make your hands look more tanned, and this polish certainly does that. I have a few polishes that claim to do that, but some of them just make my hands look dirty, thankfully this shade doesn't do that.
For the above photo I've used two coats of polish and top coat. It did dry pretty glossy on its own, but not quite as much as Seche Vite does, so I chose to amp that up. The consistency was pretty decent too, I didn't find that it got too thick or difficult to work with, which has happened with some similar shades in the past, and dry time was average, nothing to write home about, but equally nothing to get too stressed about either. Over all it's a decent polish, and one that I'll happily whip out again next spring/summer, I may even give it another showing before autumn arrives.
Models Own nail polish in Turquoise Sea is available from bottle shops nationwide and online for £4.99.
What do you think of this shade, is it something you'd wear?
