Although I like watching You Tube videos with the 'what's in my bag' tag, I have never written a post like this myself so please bare with me. I don't know how interesting this is going to be in all honesty, as I don't keep anything super special in my bag and clean it out on a regular basis. So, if you're hoping to see some really juicy stuff, I'm afraid you're out of luck. If you just want to have a bit of a nose though feel free, I'm not going to go through it before writing this up, so what is in there you will see, even if it's used tissues!
As I mentioned in my monthly favourites, I have been keeping the Real Techniques Retractable Kabuki Brush and Sleek Suede Effect Pressed Powder in my bag almost every day since I bought them. I have combination skin which tends to get a little oily in my t-zone and this duo combat that problem really well. I use them both every morning then pop them straight in my bag for the day.
Another thing I have already mentioned is this Fiorelli purse. I absolutely love it! It cost more than I would usually spend on a purse but is so worth it. The quality is great and it has enough room for everything I need, and more card slots than I think I will ever be able to use.
The only bits of rubbish I found, surprisingly, are these two cinema tickets. One is for X-Men Days of Future Past and the other is Maleficent. With a Cineworld cinema only minutes from my house, I have been really enjoying the Orange Wednesdays lately. If you're unfamiliar, if you are on either Orange or EE you can get a 2 for 1 text code and enjoy any film at a Cineworld cinema all day. Last week I saw X-Men and with Maleficent starting 2 minutes after it finished, decided to see that too.
It may look a bit odd carrying around a bar of soap, but I have super sensitive skin and can only use a limited number of soaps, so I have to take my own with me if I am going out. If I forget it I am stuck with either not going to the bathroom at all or risking either an allergic reaction or peeling skin from using what is available.
The yellow tube at the bottom of the picture is my Epi Pen. As I just mentioned I have allergies, some are very serious, so I have to carry an adrenalin injection with me at all times. I have lost count of the amount of times I have used one of these, and wouldn't even think of leaving the house without it now, it could cost me my life if I did.
I am guilty of being a bit snarky when hungry and can find it difficult to find snacks when I haven't planned ahead, so carrying a small snack with me makes total sense. I love Nakd bars, particularly the strawberry crisp and chocolate crisp. They taste so good but count as 1 of your 5 a day!
I've never been a fan of chewing gum, so much prefer to carry mints with me to freshen my breath. These Polo's have been in my bag for months now as I've only just finished the ones I had in my Christmas stocking.
On an average day I wear glasses, I used to wear contacts too but I've had so many eye problems over the last 6 months that I'm sticking to glasses for the foreseeable future. I don't like to wear them all the time though, so carrying a case makes sure I can whip them off and have them protected.
Until recently I was carrying around a solid deodorant from Lush, but it started to turn mushy as the weather has warmed up. So when I put an order in from Boots a few weeks back and needed to spend another 40p to get free delivery I got this sensitive roll on (99p) to keep in my bag. I much prefer a spray deodorant, but for a quick refresh throughout the day this works really well.
I always have some kind of lip product in my bag, lately it has been this lip gloss from the B. range at Superdrug. I have fallen in love with everything I have tried from it, it's such great quality for not a lot of money, and everything is vegan! I can't begin to tell you how nice it is to be able to shop without having to Google products and ingredients first. The shade I have here is Smokey Pink, it's a gorgeous nude with lots of shine and lasts really well without being overly sticky.
For the odd times that I'm not wearing any lip products I like to use lip balm, in fact I'm a bit of a lip balm junkie. I got through so many (and spent so much money on them) while I was ill that I decided to make my own, and that is the one I have in my bag. It's scented like bubblegum and is pink, I have a recipe written up ready to be posted after this blog challenge is finished.
One thing I don't go anywhere without is my medication, although it's hard to see the transparent container at the bottom right of the photo. I need these to function but there's not much to say about them apart from that.
The red tube is the most amazing scented hand cream I have ever used, It smells like strawberry yogurt. This is perfect for my bag as it takes no time at all to sink into the skin and doesn't feel greasy at all. This tube looks small but it's lasted me almost 3 months and only cost £1 from Marks and Spencer.
The bag that I've been using a lot since I was bought it at Christmas is this black cross-body bag by Fiorelli. It has a pocket or compartment for everything you can think of, and is the perfect size for everyday use. It's faux leather (obviously, I am vegan!) and is fantastic quality. I'm really loving this brand at the moment, and hope to buy more from them later in the year. I find that the larger the bag I use the less likely I am to clean it out regularly, so I carry more rubbish with me. This is the ideal size for everything I need on an average day. I can't find the bag in black any longer, but Debenhams has it in tan for £49.
I hope that wasn't too boring for you, as you can see there's nothing too juicy. If you're doing this, or any other, blog challenge please leave a link below so I can read it.
