When I was a child going into my teenage years I had a very specific job I wanted to do; I wanted to be a bodyguard! How random is that? I honestly have no idea where that idea came from, but I was dead serious about it. I wrote off to a couple of agencies to ask what I needed to study in order to be qualified and made a plan that I intended to stick to. Of course it didn't work out, for many different reasons.
Since then I have thought of a few different jobs I would love to do, but there's one that has always been in the forefront of my mind, hopefully one day I can sort out the few issues surrounding it and train for it.
Most people that I've asked have listed things like movie star, singer or football player as their dream job. Mine is a lot simpler. I would love to be a counsellor.
I am not ashamed to admit that I have had counselling myself, and it helped no end. To be able to give that peace to someone else would be amazing. Being an empathetic person I don't know if I could realistically handle it though, I tend to get very emotionally invested in other people's problems and am not the best at dealing with stress.
There are many reasons why I haven't been able to make it happen yet, but I am still hopeful that I will one day. Thankfully being a counsellor isn't something that you have to do by a certain age, in fact the more life experience you have the better you could be.
What is your dream job? Do you think it's something you'll ever be able to achieve? If you are taking part in this, or any other, blog challenge, please link it below. Id love to read it.
