Manicure Monday | Barry M Gelly - Watermelon

As I'm sure you all know by now, the actor Robin Williams sadly passed away last week. He suffered from depression for many years and fought it so hard, but unfortunately he took his own life. I won't get into it too deeply as I don't think a blog like this is the appropriate place for it, but for a few different reasons it really affected me. So, when I saw a post on Instagram calling for nail bloggers and nail polish enthusiasts to paint their nails green (the colour of depression awareness) on Sunday in order to raise awareness of this horrible illness, I knew I had to join in.

Barry M Watermelon

Whilst looking through my collection I found Watermelon from the Gelly Hi- Shine range by Barry M. I bought this a few months ago but completely forgot about it, this is the first time I've worn it. It's a deep teal leaning towards green, and I love it!

For the above photo I've used two coats of Watermelon and topped it with Seche Vite, but only to speed up drying time, not because it needs the extra help with shine, it really doesn't. I found the formula really easy to work with, probably the easiest of all the Gelly range I've tried thus far. Some of them can get sticky, but I didn't have any issues with this one at all.

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Watermelon is available online for £3.99 or in Superdrug stores and online.

What do you think of this shade, is it something you'd be likely to wear?
