Manicure Monday | China Glaze - Smoke and Ashes

I know that this polish is ridiculously far away from a summer shade, but I love it so much I can't even tell you. I've always been a lover of dark nail polish, and black is the one I always wear if I can't decide, but this is something else.

In the bottle, and in most swatches online, the polish looks black with silver micro glitter, but in person it looks more black/bottle green with dark green micro glitter. I'm so pleased I was able to pick up the green glitter in my photo, it's my favourite part of the polish and it's what makes it really stand out from all of the other black/green/charcoal polishes I own.

The formula is absolute perfection too, this photo shows just 1 coat of Smoke and Ashes. It's the only polish I own that I feel looks perfect in one coat. It definitely doesn't need a top coat either, but I've topped it with Seche Vite just because I'm in the habit of doing so and didn't really think. I wish I'd left it without now so I could show you it on its own.

As you may have guessed this has very quickly taken the top spot for me, it's my favourite ever nail polish, and that says a lot.  If I was in a hurry and had to do my nails to go out, this is what I would reach for, it goes on beautifully, is opaque in 1 coat and doesn't need a top coat. Big thumbs up from me, more like this please China Glaze!

I almost forgot to mention; on my ring fingers I'm wearing 2 coats of Copper by Barry M. It has lots of micro glitter and picks up some of the green in Smoke and Ashes, perfect bed fellows I think.

China Glaze Smoke and Ashes is available from Nail Polish Direct for £3.99
Barry M Copper is available online here for £2.99

What do you think of these polishes?
