Weekly Round-up #1

As those of you living in the UK will be well aware of, the weather here is terrible right now, we're getting the back end of a hurricane so there really isn't much to do other than sit indoors. Since the plans I had have had to be cancelled I thought I would write a short round-up of my week.

Loved: Going for pizza and a long overdue catch up with my best friend

We don't see each other nearly enough, so when we do it's a real treat. Add to that lots of gorgeous vegan pizza, salad and garlic bread and it was a great evening.

Loathed: back pain

I've damaged a ligament in my back and the pain has been horrible. I rested for days so I could go out for a meal, but that didn't help much. I'm still suffering now but thankfully I'm able to type better when I'm led down anyway.

Laughed at: Friday Night Dinner

I've been watching this show ever since it came on Channel 4 in 2011, but this week I started from the beginning again and have loved it even more the second time around. If you're not familiar with the show; it's a sitcom about a Jewish family in England starring Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners) Tamsin Greig (The Green Wing) and a few other great actors. The cast is small but the laughs are big.

Cried at: Say Yes to the Dress

Yes, I really am that emotional at the moment! One episode was about a woman who had overcome some really tough medical issues and I was a blubbering wreck by the end of it.

Watched: Witches of East End

I've never heard of this show before. I was scrolling through Netflix and stumbled upon it, I have to say that even though I'm only half way through the first season, I'm really enjoying it so far.

Listened to: Charlotte Church

I only tweeted about this a few hours ago. Her new music is a million miles away from 'the voice of an angel' she was as a child or her 'blink and you'll miss it' pop career. It's grown up, techno-scientific-grunge-experimental (I could basically use any description and it would fit). It's amazing!

Read: Adrie182 (blog)

This is a pretty new blog to me, but it's one that I've been really enjoying reading this week. Its focus is primarily cruelty-free beauty. Although based in Australia, most of the products mentioned are available in the UK (and I'd assume the USA too).

So there's my brief summary of a week that brought every kind of weather you can imagine, with the exception of snow. It was 27 degrees one evening and flooded the next, the joys of living on this beautiful little island. I quite enjoyed writing this so might do it more often.

What have you been up to this week?
