This month has just flown by hasn't it? Maybe it's because I've been unwell a lot or maybe it's just because I've been wishing the month away as it's been so bloody hot, but I can't believe it's almost Autumn (well, it's not that far away).
I've been so organised this month, possibly because I've been blogging less than usual, but I've made a point of making lists of things I've been enjoying so I don't forget things to add to my favourites.
Seche Vite - £17.39 (for the professional kit)
The first thing I have to mention, and I honestly can't believe I've never put it into a favourites post before, is Seche Vite. This is a miracle in a bottle. As you probably know, I love painting my nails and do it more often than is needed. If it wasn't for Seche Vite I don't think I would enjoy it as much. This is easily the best top coat I have ever used, it's self levelling, super fast drying and very, very shiny. A coat of this and your nails look 10 times more professional than if you went top coat free.
ELF Mechanical Eyelash Curler - £1.99
I've told you before that I've been on the hunt for a really good eyelash curler, and I think I've found one. This beauty only costs £1.99 (although I got it half price) and it's the one I've been using all month long. It's the perfect shape for my eyes and creates an amazing curl. The thing I love most about it is that it never pinches my eyelid, it's the first one I've used that I can say that about. If you're debating whether to splurge on an expensive one like I was, I'd suggest giving this a try first, you might save yourself a small fortune.
I've always been a lover of a bold lip, and I still am, but over the last few weeks I've been loving a more natural lip option. Perhaps it's the hot weather that has me reaching for lighter products, but I've worn little else this month. The formula is absolute perfection, it's super glossy and has decent staying power without being too sticky. My only bugbear with these Gloss Sticks is that they only have 2 shades that are suitable for vegans, but maybe that's a good thing as I'm sure I'd just have to own them all otherwise.
ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer - £6.95
Because I've been so hot over the last few weeks I've been doing everything I can to try and make my make-up last all day, and this primer from ELF has been my saving grace. One pump is all I need to cover my whole face and my foundation just glides over it, even over any dry patches I may have. It feels like your typical silicone primer; very smooth and velvety but I find that any base products cling to it brilliantly. I can be secure knowing that, if I use this, my make-up will look just as fresh after 8+ hours as when I first applied it.
Last month I mentioned that I was loving the Sugar Crush Body Wash, and I've been using it this month too, along with the Body Scrub of the same name. I think I may actually prefer this to Flake Away which says a lot, the smell is amazing; sweet, citrussy, fresh, simply beautiful. It gets rid of any dry patches I may have and smooths everything out brilliantly. It's not too harsh so is great for sensitive skin and leaves my skin feeling nourished. If you're looking for a body scrub that's not too rough, gritty and is moisturising, you'd do well to pick this up.
Models Own Speckled Egg in Dove - £4.99
My last beauty favourite this month is this nail polish from Models Own. I featured this in my first Manicure Monday post (link) and out of all of the polishes I've had on my nails this month, this is by far my favourite. It's such an easy and quick way of making it look like you've spent a lot of time on your manicure when really all you've done it slap a couple of coats of this on. I love it topped with Seche Vite, making it even and shiny, but with a matte top coat it would look just like Cadbury's Mini Eggs.
New Blog Design
The first non-beauty favourite has got to be the new look of my blog. If you've been a reader for the last few months I'm sure you'd have noticed quite a big difference, it now looks a lot closer to how I always imagined it would, it's not perfect yet but it's a lot cleaner, less cluttered and more my style. I've seen a rather large increase in my stats since I updated it too which tells me that it obviously needed it, no-one, including me, wants to read a blog that looks messy and un-organised. I do still have things that I want to change in time, but at least now I am happy with how it looks.
Commonwealth Games
I love sport and get really excited when a big competition is on, particularly the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games. I love that you can veg out in front of the TV for days on end choosing from an abundance of different sports, my favourites are swimming, cycling, athletics and triathlon. The thing that I love about the Commonwealth Games in particular is that the UK is split, so for a change we get to see Wales on the podium and hear our own national anthem instead of God Save the Queen.
Flowers
I've been really lucky this month; I've been spoiled with a few bouquets of flowers. Because I haven't been very well I seem to have had flowers on my dressing table nearly all month, with my favourites being the roses pictured here. The photo really doesn't do them justice, they were huge! I love roses but this is the first time I've had any that are so beautiful that I haven't been able to stop looking at them.
I Won!
I was lucky enough to win a blog give away a few days ago and can't wait to get my prize! The lovely Natalie of Girl Uninterpreted hosted a give away on her blog to celebrate reaching 200 followers. The winner was picked by Rafflecopter, if you read a few blogs you'll be aware of the widget; it makes it completely fair and picks a winner at random, and it was me! I never win anything so am thrilled to win a whole bunch of new beauty products.
I've had a strange old month and am so happy to be welcoming in a new one, hopefully one that'll be a lot more positive. Please feel free to leave any of your favourites this month, or links to your blogs, below, I love reading what you've been enjoying.
