How To Make a Custom 'About Me' Widget in Blogger

For the last couple of months I've been looking for a way to make a custom 'about me', but all of the tutorials I found had me using HTML code. I have zero knowledge of this and it makes me really nervous to even think about changing any of the code myself. Little did I know that it was so ridiculously easy, so easy that I managed to do it in about 2 minutes once I had my image ready. Here's what you need to do:
  • Have your image ready
To create a round photo I edited my existing one in Canva. I searched for 'circle' and found this one.

Click on it, upload your photo and drag and drop it over the circle you've chosen, your photo should now be centred in the circle, like this:

  • Save your image
Go to the top right and click on 'Download or Link'. A box will appear, click on 'Image'. This will save it to your computer, in your 'Downloads' folder.

  • Create a new post
Next you want to open up Blogger and create a new post. In the top left corner click on HTML. Click on 'Insert Image'. Find your image in your 'Downloads' folder and select it.

Click on 'Centre' so that your image isn't right against the margain once it's on your blog. Now go back up to the top left and click on 'Compose'. Underneath your image you want to write the 'about me'. I chose to keep mine pretty short, but you can add as much as you like, or have no text at all if that's what you prefer. Make sure you have your text centred too. Next you want to go back up to HTML in the top left, so your image and text change into code, this is what we're going to use. Now save your work, but do not publish it. I titled mine 'about me - do not publish or delete', just to remind myself not to ever publish it.
  • Copy the code
Copy all of the code, then open another browser with your Blogger 'Layout' open. Click on 'Add a Gadget', and scroll down to 'HTML/JavaScript'.

Right click in the 'Content' box and click 'paste'. Click 'Save' and you're done. Now just go over to the column under 'Add a Gadget' and drag your new 'About Me' to the position you want it to appear.

I know it seems long winded, but honestly it doesn't take more than a couple of minutes if you're even slightly familiar with the layout of Blogger. I hope this was of some use to you.
