For those of you that are new to my blog (hello, and welcome) you may not be aware of what "Taff" means. It's a slang term used for people from Wales, which happens to be where I hail from, hence the name of my blog. You may not also know of my love for Barry M Nail Paints, so when the two are combined I felt like I had little choice but to buy whatever they were throwing at me. Rhossili is a matte nail polish from Barry M's summer 2014 collection, and it's also the name of a village in Wales.
Rhossilli is such a beautiful shade, it sits perfectly between purple and fuschia and looks slightly lighter in direct sunlight than it does indoors. I took lots of photos of this manicure to try and get the perfect in between colour match, and I think this is it. I've been holding my hands next to the screen comparing the colours and they look spot on, which wasn't an easy task, but then it rarely is with purples.
The formula of this polish was fantastic, as I fully expected it to be after trying out Cancun from the same collection and loving that. It applied smoothly and evenly and didn't leave any streaks or bubbles. As with Cancun, it dried really quickly too meaning that I didn't feel the need to use any top coat, though I'm really tempted to try it out with a glossy top coat next time, I think it'd look gorgeous with some shine.
In this photo I'm wearing two coats of Rhossili over top of a ridge filling base coat, my ridges always look more prominent with a matte polish, so I feel that it's an essential step for this mani. I'm so hooked on this polish that I cannot stop staring at my nails, even though it's not as matte as matte can be, it's just so different than any other pink/purple I own. If you're looking for something a bit different for summer but don't feel comfortable wearing super bright polishes, I think this could be the guy for you.
Is this something you would wear, or do you like super bright polishes for summer?
