Weekly Round-Up #28

Bought:  Collection Lasting Perfection

I've already spoken about my love for the concealer from this range, so whilst browsing the shops recently I decided to give the foundation and powder a go too. I haven't had a chance to try them out yet (well, I haven't had a chance to photograph them and don't want to use them until I do), but I'll be sure to let you know how I get on with them.
Made me happy:  Finding a sharpener for my Barry M Gelly Lips

I absolutely love the Gelly Lip crayons' from Barry M, but hardly ever reach for them because they're not twist up. I already have two double ended pencil sharpeners but neither of them are large enough to fit the Gelly Lips. I finally gave in and bought the Barry M sharpener thinking that surely they made one to fit their own products, and thankfully they have. I know I'm going to get a lot more wear out of their crayons now.

Impressed by:  Long lasting roses

I received these roses as part of a birthday present on the 2nd February and took this photo 6 days later, look how well they held up. I've never had flowers, especially roses, last anywhere near that long before. They also had glitter on the edges of the petals and leaves, but it didn't really pick up on camera.

Disappointed by:  The cancelling of a TV show

I don't watch a heck of a lot of TV any more, I usually turn to Netflix if there's something specific I want to see, but the one show I loved last year was The Tomorrow People. After finishing its first season a few months ago I was wondering when it would be back on, only to find out that it's been cancelled and won't be returning at all. I hate it when I get into a show and it's gets cancelled without tying up loose ends (just as Alcatraz did, that still bothers me). This is one of the reasons why I don' watch TV much, it seems to happen much too often for my liking.

Scared by:  A giant spider

Is there anything more frightening than getting into the shower only to find a massive spider just loitering in there, watching you? Seriously, look at the size of it compared to the shower curtain hooks, it's frigging huge! There's something very sinister about seeing it through the shower curtain like that, but I couldn't risk getting too close to take a photo on the other side. I hate spiders, they scare the s**t out of me, so there was no way I could catch it and let it go in the garden. Instead I just kept an eye on it and tried to pretend that I hadn't seen it so the next person in the bathroom would have to deal with it. Sorry roomie!

Candle of the week:  Village Candle - Pure Linen

I usually prefer really strong scents from my candles; either super sweet or super spicy, so the fact that I love Pure Linen is surprising to me. It smells exactly as you'd expect from the name, in fact it reminds me of my Mum's house in autumn with the washing drying over the banister. It's not a scent that lingers around for too long after it's been extinguished, but is perfect for the day time when I usually want something less heavy.

Beauty product of the week:  Wet N Wild MegaLast Lipsticks

As I've told you many times, I love a matte lipstick, especially when they're creamy and very affordable. Wet N Wild MegaLast Lipsticks are exactly that, but unfortunately finding a UK seller has proven to be quite difficult. A few weeks ago I found a seller on eBay who was shipping them to the UK with very reasonable rates, so I took advantage and got six. The shades I have here are (from left to right): Vamp It Up, Sugar Plum Fairy, Stoplight Red, Cinnamon Spice, In The Flesh and Rose Bud.

Listened to:  Sia - 1000 Forms of Fear

When Chandelier was released in 2014 I listened to it constantly, I just couldn't get enough, and when Sia's new music video, Elastic Heart, was released a few weeks ago I watched it over and over again. So with a new craving for her voice I went on the hunt for her latest album. 100 Forms of Fear is the 6th studio album from Sia, but is the first one I've ever listened to the entire way through. I really don't know what it is about her raspy voice that has me so enchanted, but I can't get enough of it.

YouTube:  Devin Super Tramp

On YouTube you will find countless kinds of channels, from beauty, cooking, DIY and everything in between. The one kind of channel I've been loving recently has been 'proper film makers'. By this I mean extremely high quality videos, not sat in front of the camera, just showing great content that takes you away from every day life for a few minutes. Devin Super Tramp is the best in this field that I've come across. With videos ranging from country tours, extreme sports and some of the best shots of nature I have ever seen, either on YouTube or on TV, his channel is one that I'm happy to go back to again and again.
