Oz Naturals 5% Hyaluronic Acid Serum | Review

Ever since Christmas my skin has been an absolute wreck, I don't know if it's the excessive amount of make-up I was wearing over the festive period, all of the junk food I ate, the freezing temperatures or a combination of them all. At the start of January I went on the hunt for a product to solve my dry, tight skin issues and while I was looking I was asked if I wanted to try the Hyaluronic Acid Serum* from Oz Naturals.

The serum comes packaged in a 30ml glass bottle with a rubber pipette that allows you to control the amount of product you need. It makes it so easy to get just the right amount of serum onto your finger tip without wasting anything, something which I'm always grateful for, I hate wasting product.

The serum is a lovely consistency; liquidy enough that it's easy to apply and move around your face but gel enough that it doesn't run all over the place before you've had a chance to apply it. It has a very slight scent, but it's really pleasant; I detect rose which is a smell I'm always happy to have in my beauty products but I know there are just as many people who hate the smell as there are that love it.

I use the amount shown in the picture below, and that is enough to cover my entire face and neck, because I moisturise down my neck too, but if you only need it on your face I'd recommend halving the amount shown here. I'd say that a bottle will last me approx. 6-8 weeks, but with 'normal' use it'll obviously last you longer. You have to work with it very quickly because as soon as it comes into contact with your skin it sinks in, something that I love about it, it makes my skin care routine very fast.

Firstly I cleanse and tone my face as usual, then I apply the serum. As soon as it's been applied there is no residue on the skin at all, within a couple of seconds it's completely disappeared and you're ready for your moisturiser. I use this all over my face, even up to my lash line on my eyes, and it doesn't sting or affect my sensitive eyes in any way, it even helps my eye cream to not effect them, something I really wasn't expecting.

The first huge plus point for me with this serum is the way it reacts with my moisturiser; it somehow manages to grab onto it and pull it even deeper into my skin, which means I'm not left with any residue at all. Before using this I'd apply my eye cream and moisturiser in the morning and wait 10-15 minutes before applying my make-up, and sometimes I'd have to blot my face with a tissue to make sure I didn't have anything left on my skin. Since using the serum I don't have to do either of those things, I can go straight from applying my creams to applying my make-up, and it glides on even easier because there isn't a trace of product left on my face.

The second huge plus point is the effect it's had on my skin. Oz Naturals claim that the serum:
  • Plumps and hydrated dry, dull skin
  • Assists in balancing skin moisture levels
  • Diminishes surface lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen
There isn't one point there that I can disagree with. Within a matter of days my skin was less dry and in just over a week I had no dry patches left at all. My skin, particularly the skin on my neck, looks healthier and my face is more radiant than it has been in years. A few years ago I had a rather nasty rash on my neck and it left my skin in that area looking scarred, this serum has helped reduce the look of the scarring, something I haven't been able to do with any other product. I don't have excessive lines or wrinkles yet, but the fine lines around my eyes look much less prominent and the slight scowl lines between my eyes have practically vanished!

It'll come as no surprise to hear that my over all thoughts on this serum are that it's an incredible product, and it's something that I can't imagine being without now. I very rarely write such a glowing review, but this serum deserves every bit of praise I have given it. It's the best thing I've used on my skin in years, if not ever. I really can't recommend it highly enough.

I've been really looking forward to writing this review, but I know that you're supposed to give new skin care products 28 days to take full effect, now that I have I'm glad I waited because I can see the final results and I'm so happy with them.

Oz Naturals 5% Hyaluronic Acid Serum is available from Amazon for £12.39.

Have you tried this serum, or anything else from Oz Naturals? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
