B. Active Day Cream | Review

It seems like I've been on the hunt for the perfect daytime moisturiser forever! I wanted something that was light enough to wear under make-up, non-greasy, didn't break me out, didn't cost as much as a weeks rent, has SPF and a million more things that I won't bore you with. I feel as if I've tried almost every brand I could get my grubby little hands on, so when I saw that Superdrug was having a half price sale on their entire B. range I snapped up both the day and night creams.

You get 50ml of product which is housed in a heavy plastic jar with a screw off lid, it's very sturdy and looks fancy enough to be out on my dressing table instead of hidden away in a drawer. It has an SPF of 15 which is great, although personally I would like it to be higher. Still, it's better than none at all. The scent is barely there, and it's not overly perfumed, it's a very fresh and clean scent. I really don't like facial products that smell too strong but this is very pleasant.

The cream is very thick and you only need a tiny amount to cover your whole face and neck, the below photo shows how much I use in one application. This one jar has lasted me 3 months already and shows no signs of ending anytime soon. I was concerned that the cream would be too thick to apply my make-up over, but I needn't have worried, my foundation applies better over this than any other day cream I have used in the past.

To apply, I dab small dots over my face and gently massage it in and use what's left on my hands down my neck. I usually let in sink in for 10 minutes or so before applying my make-up and I find that this works really well.

I've been using this alongside the night cream, eye cream and skin tone corrector from the same range and have to say that I'm really pleased with it. It sinks into the skin after a few minutes so you're not left with a film like I have had from so many other moisturisers and it really does make my combination, but usually dry, skin feel very hydrated.

It comes in a choice of 3 age ranges; phase 1 is for your 20's and 30's, phase 2 for your late 30's and 40's and phase 3 for more mature skin. I was very tempted to buy phase 3 thinking that it is bound to offer more moisturising properties since it is targeted for more mature skin which is often less supple, but am really pleased I have gone with phase 2.

As I said; I've been using this for about 3 months now, I wanted to give it a fair shot before writing the review as I find with skin care you often don't notice things in the first couple of weeks, and I absolutely love it. I love it so much in fact, that I have stocked up while the price is low and have 3 more ready for when this one runs out.

B. Active Day Cream is available online for £11.99 (currently on sale for £5.97) and in Superdrug stores nationwide.

Have you tried any of the B. skincare range?
