Manicure Monday | Orly - In The Navy

I never used to be a lover of the colour navy, it just seemed like a washed out version of black to me, but lately I've been  loving it. In The Navy from Orly is possibly my favourite navy nail polish, not that I have that many of them, but I prefer it to most swatches I've seen online of other brands too.

This was the first nail polish I bought from Orly, so I didn't know what to expect, but the formula is great. It's quite thin but still fully opaque in 2 coats, it's easy to control too meaning that I didn't have much clean up to do and the brush is a decent size. I think whether you have large or small nail beds you'd get along with the brush just fine. As you may be able to see from the photo, it does contain very subtle micro shimmer, but it barely notices in person, in fact I only realised it had shimmer when I was editing the photos.

On my ring fingers I've gone for a silver foil polish with Barry M's Masquerade over the top in a gradient. Masquerade is a gorgeous glitter topper packed with medium, small and micro hex glitters in purple, blue, silver and pink. I think you'd have a hard time getting this opaque on its own, so it definitely needs a base colour underneath it. As usual I topped everything with 1 coat of Seche Vite to speed up drying time.

Orly In The Navy is available online for £2.99 (rrp £10.95) and Barry M Masquerade is also available online for £2.99.

What do you think of this mani?
