Manicure Monday | China Glaze - Are You Jelly?

Along with red and pink, purple is one of my favourite colours to wear on my nails. I have so many different shades and finishes, and Are You Jelly? from China Glaze is certainly up there with my favourites.

China Glaze Are You Jelly

Are You Jelly? is, as you'd expect from the name, a jelly polish, which means it's extremely thin and needs quite a lot of layering up to be fully opaque. In this photo I'm wearing five coats, which I've topped with Seche Vite because it dries to a satin finish and I much prefer it with a lot of shine. Although I've had to use so many coats, it doesn't feel thick or heavy, in fact it still feels thinner on the nails than two or three coats of regular polish.

Because the polish is so thin, it dries in next to no time, but obviously the more opaque you want it, the longer it'll take to dry. I think this would be a great polish to use with a glitter underneath, or in some nail art, because whatever you put under it will still show through.

I really love the shade and it's the closest I've found so far to my perfect purple. If you know of any perfect Cadbury purple polishes that are a creme finish, please let me know, I've been on the hunt for years.

China Glaze Are You Jelly? is available from Nail Polish Direct for £3.95.

Do you have any experience with jelly polishes? I'd love to hear your suggestions and thoughts on this mani.
