Avere Make-up Brush Set | Review

Like most other beauty addicts, I'm always on the lookout for the best application methods for my make-up. This has led to a rather substantial brush collection, however I'm always more than happy to try out more. So, when I was given the opportunity to review the Avere Make-up Brush Set*, I jumped at the chance.

The brushes come housed in a soft leather-effect black pouch which is easy to clean and has slots to fit each brush perfectly. I really like the pouch and have started keeping other brushes in there too, it folds up so nicely and feels and looks a lot more expensive that it's bargain price tag. The first thing I noticed upon opening the brushes was that there wasn't any scent at all, which can often happen with new brushes. I really appreciated that.

The brushes are, of course, all synthetic and cruelty-free, and are the perfect length to get a controlled application but aren't so short that they're difficult to use. The handles are a glossy black plastic and aren't too heavy, so they'd be ideal for taking away on your holidays as they weigh virtually nothing.

I've washed the brushes a few times and have only had a couple of hairs shed, and that was only on the first wash, the second wash nothing at all came out. They wash up super easily too, just a little liquid soap (I'm currently using Grass shower gel from Lush) and water and all product was completely removed. I always finish my brush washing routine with a few sprays of rubbing alcohol, just to make sure that any germs are definitely gone.

I'm very happy to say that every single one of the brushes, besides the eyebrow brush for obvious reasons, is extremely soft and feels gorgeous gliding across the skin. It really feels like a treat to use them. Because they're so soft they blend product easily too, even the most stubborn of blushes blend like a dream and the lip brush is just perfect for using with my OCC Lip Tar's.

As you can tell I'm very happy with these brushes, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a travel friendly set, or anyone in need of more cruelty-free brushes. As much as I like them all, the stand-outs for me are the blush brush and the eyebrow brush, I use these almost daily now as they make application and blending so easy.

The Avere Make-up Brush Set* is available from Amazon for £15.99. If you want to order these brushes, use the code AvereM25 and get 25% off your order, valid until 31st May.

Is this a set you'd be likely to pick up for yourself or as a gift?
