Manicure Monday | Limited Collection - Plum

Marks and Spencer is somewhere that I like to go to look or new make-up, especially foundations, but is somewhere that I never even thought to look for nail polish until recently. When I was browsing in-store I found the Gel Effect polishes from Limited Collection (an M&S own brand) and fell in love with the shade Plum, which is what I have on my nails this week.

Plum is the perfect name for this polish, as you can see it's a beautiful créme polish that is very close to the perfect purple shade, at least, it is for me. I've mentioned before that I'm on the hunt for the ideal purple nail polish and this may be the closest I've come thus far.

Application was a breeze, the polish consistency was neither too thick nor too thin so two coats was all that was needed for total opacity. This is the second time I've used the polish and found it to be slightly thicker than the first time I used it, so I don't know how long you'd be able to keep this for before you either had to thin it out or throw it away. Still, at the moment, it's still easy to work with and it dried pretty quickly and without any flaws at all.

I've chosen to pair Plum with Ballet from SpaRitual, which I was very kindly sent as a gift (thank you again Maria). Ballet is a very pale glitter that shows hints of pink, lilac, silver and grey, the overall effect is beautiful and two coats was plenty to make sure that no bald spots could be seen. I've never used a SpaRitual polish before but I'm so impressed with this one that I've already got my eye on a fair few more of their glitters.

I love this combination and will more than happily be rocking this a few more times before spring sets in.

Limited Collection Gel Shine polish in Plum is available from Marks and Spencer for £4, and SpaRitual Polish in Ballet is available online for £4.95 (rrp £9.75).

I'm looking for more vegan nail polish brands to try this year, so if you have a favourite please leave me suggestions in the comments.
