Manicure Monday | China Glaze - VII

After all of the glitter and nail gems I've been wearing the last few weeks I really fancied a change of pace, so went on the hunt for a simple creme polish that was in the Marsala spectrum. If you don't already know, Marsala is the Pantone colour of the year for 2015, so what better to wear for my first Manicure Monday of the year than the shade that China Glaze have dubbed to be their perfect Marsala polish?

VII is from China Glaze's 10th anniversary collection, which was released in 2007, and is a beautiful aubergine/wine creme that applies very smoothly and is fully opaque in 2 coats. To me it looks a bit darker than Marsala, but is still in that family and is a shade that I really do love. The photo here shows 2 coats of VII topped with Seche Vite, though if drying time isn't an issue for you, you certainly don't need it for the extra shine, it has plenty of its own.

Here is the official colour of the year from Pantone, you can see here that VII is very similar.

I know I've worn a few similar shades over the last couple of months, but this is one of my favourites, I think it's only fighting for the top spot with ELF's Plum.

China Glaze VII is available from Nail Polish Direct for £3.99 (rrp £8.95).

What do you think of this shade? Have you found another polish that might be the perfect Marsala shade?
